Concept Of Non-Fiction

Def. 1. "written words intended to give facts, or true accounts of real things and events. Often used to attributively." http://www.allwords.com/word-non-fiction.html
2. "the branch of literature comprising works of narrative prose dealing with or offering opinions or conjectures upon facts and reality, including biography, history and the essay." http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/nonfiction
3. "books that are true, are about real things, people, events and places." http://library.thinkquest.org/5002/Basic/ficnf.htm

My Def. Non fiction is a book or other form of literature that is about real places, people, and events.

ex. "SHADOW AND ACT" (non-fiction book) by Ralph Ellison
Shadow and Act is a book about the life of African Americans. This book describes how they were seen and how people would adjust their critiscm on African Americans to fit the so-called life of the African American people. I would be interested in this type of non fiction literature.

I think non fiction is an ok subject. My views of non fiction change depending on what the book I'm reading is about. If the book is about past wars then I'm not going to be interested in it. If the book is about ways of life then non fiction for me is interesting.
